You can use the DOCgis interactive GIS maps to find out about the work DOC does and the conservation land and waters that DOC manages.

Use the DOCgis Help menu to learn how the maps work.
 
To launch DOCgis, choose from one of the following options:

New Zealand Map Service - NZTM

  • Projection - NZ Transverse Mercator
  • Datum - NZ Geodetic Datum 2000
  • Geographic extent - NZ Main Islands and Offshore Islands (excluding Chatham Islands)

Chatham Islands Map Service - CITM

  • Projection - Chatham Islands Transverse Mercator
  • Datum - NZ Geodetic Datum 2000
  • Geographic extent - Chatham Islands (Including Pitt Island)

As part of the Government's Terrestrial and Freshwater Biodiversity Information System (TFBIS) Programme, the Department of Conservation has implemented a National Enterprise Geographic Information System (NEGIS) in order to manage the Department's core national geospatial information. Terrestrial and Freshwater Biodiversity Information managed in the Department's biodiversity and geospatial databases is integrated and available for viewing, along with other DOC National geospatial information. DOCgis is the Internet Mapping System component of the DOC National Enterprise GIS.
