Kahui Kura Taiao works to ensure that DOC achieves its responsibilities to Maori under the Conservation Act.
The Corporate Services Group ensures that DOC has information services, business and finance, legal services, project management and sustainability management to achieve its mission and objectives.
The Conservation Engagement Group is involved with communications, international relations, marketing, ministerial services and national relationships.
The Policy Group ensures that DOC has a clear direction for its conservation policy and treaty settlement work.
The People and Organisation Development Group ensures DOC has the necessary human resources and organisation systems in place in order to achieve its mission and objectives.
This group focuses on the long-term improvement of conservation delivery, through new and improved systems and processes, grounded in science.
Two regional offices focus on supporting the Director General and serving as leads for their regions. The northern operations office is in Hamilton and the southern operations office is in Christchurch.
It’s the responsibility of each conservator to lead their conservancy in conservation activities that are in line with DOC’s quality standards.
