Arawai Kākāriki wetland restoration programme

Kaupapa Arawai Kākāriki

The Arawai Kākāriki project aims to enhance the ecological restoration of three of New Zealand’s foremost wetland/freshwater sites, making use of strong community involvement and promoting research into wetland restoration techniques.

Background

The Arawai Kākāriki programme was initiated in 2007 with funding of $2.2 million per year until 2011.
