The Taupo Fishery area is responsible for the management of the Taupo sports fishery. The rainbow and brown trout of Lake Taupo and its tributaries provide 30-40 per cent of the country’s freshwater sports fishing.

Location: The Taupo Fishery includes Lake Taupo and its catchment, the Waikato River down to Huka Falls, lakes Moawhango and Otamangakau, but not Lake Rotoaira.
