This report presents information on the indigenous orchids of the Chatham Islands.


Summary

This technical report, prepared for the Department of Conservation, Wellington Conservancy, is a preliminary account of the orchids of the Chatham Islands.

It lists 30 orchid taxa on the Chatham Islands, including six of uncertain taxonomic status. Two, Pterostylis micromega and Prasophyllum aff. patens, are considered to be of national conservation concern. The report describes the habitats of Chatham Islands orchids, identifies orchids in need of further assessment, and recommends follow-up management.
